Tina Martinez
Tina Martinez is a
Professional Freelance Internet Consultant and currently spends
her time in Sacramento, Ca.
She specializes in web design and also manages a successful
web hosting company.
Tina studied physics in college and began
her technical career in information technology (IT) working
as a technical contractor in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her
work took her into many different large corporations. There,
she acted in the capacity of a support analyst where she helped
people understand how to use their computers, and fixed computers
when they weren't acting right. Technically, she has a wide
variety of technical skill and experience. While in college
she tutored students in math and science and was successful
in simplifying challenging ideas so that students could be
more successful in their studies.
Tina recognized early on that she enjoyed
the freedom of being a contractor but desired a more flexible
lifestyle that would allow her to pursue other interests so
she turned to the internet. She fell in love with web design
because making a web site requires
both sides of the brain. She became excited at the prospect
of being able to blend her creative with her technical.
Now, she has been making web sites since
1998 and feels that each new web site she creates is better
than the one before it. There doesn't appear to be an end
to the technology and features that can be integrated into
a web site and design and every day she finds a new way to
be creative in the process.
Even though Tina usually works alone on
a project, from concept to design to technical implementation,
she also enjoys partnering with other graphic designers, where
the process of bringing their unique design to life in the
form of a functional web page and web site is a very rewarding
challenge.

Equations
What do you see when
you look at the sky? A physicist might look at the sky and
start thinking of the calculations that cause it to be there;
wave forms and Fourier transforms, and a dreamer might be
overcome with the vastness and have no words to describe it
nor even try. What do you see when you look at the sky? I
see both the beauty and the science.
Buddha
- Who?
This
is a mirror. When you look into this mirror your own face
appears within the blank area of the face of this meditating
Buddha. Thus the illusion is created
that you are the Buddha.
One
of my hobbies is stained glass. I originally drew this Buddha
to be a pattern for a stained glass window. Instead, I etched
the pattern onto a piece of mirror with a jewelers drill and
diamond drill bits. The mirror is 2' x 3'. Taking a
picture of this mirror turned out to be a huge project in
itself. How do you get a good picture of a mirror? Finally,
after many attempts inside, I decided to take it outside.
At the time I was living in a place that had an old barn-like
structure in the yard. I realized that if I hung it outside
on the barn wall, it would reflect the trees. So I did and
it worked!
